Implementing a fdmon based IT analytics and orchestration platform requires only a Linux kernel, a C compiler and the standard protocols (HTTPS, VCDIFF, MQTT, …). We own the source code of all components of the solution.
In other words, we are not dependent on any proprietary technology or any technology subject to potential acquisition or licensing policy changes.
This principle also applies to proxies deployed in our clients’ data centers. Only interfaces provided by the monitored technologies may be proprietary (e.g., ESXCLI).
fdmon runs on any Linux system provided by any cloud provider. The ability to mix operating system distributions and versions on the same distributed fdmon platform, ensures that bugs do not spread. Our latencies and throughput requirements enable large-scale multi-cloud deployments.
Integrity and resilience of the data produced by fdmon rely on our own distributed file system, API-FS. We do not use any database technology.
Therefore, a swiss government organization implementing fdmon can claim a complete digital sovereignty in terms of IT analytics and orchestration technologies.
Acquisition of the fdmon solution or our company is excluded from our roadmap, which guarantees the long-term competitiveness of our offer.
